Research, stock selection and discipline are central to equity management. At Equitable Trust we dedicate significant firm resources to highly regarded independent professional research firms that are recognized for their reliability and independent thought. Supported by the firm’s research program, the Investment Committee identifies companies considered suitable for portfolio additions based on company fundamentals, price and current market conditions. Many of these companies have records of stable or rising dividends. Typically, internally managed portfolios are comprised of 30 to 40 stocks whose characteristics and prospects are consistent with portfolio objectives. All portfolio stocks are reviewed continuously and evaluated in the context of the Investment Committee’s sell discipline.
